01 / WHERE IT CAME FROM
Three problems that kept coming back
Voyager Manager started on a run of dates where the same headaches kept turning up, always at the wrong moment.
BACKUP
The whole instrument at once
SysEx transfer from one instrument to another worked fine. What I wanted was to save and restore a complete Voyager — all seven banks — in a single operation, instead of handling them one at a time and keeping track of what had been done.
COMPARISON
Read the parameters, not the bytes
Several rental instruments, one backup a day. Finding out what made two files different meant loading them back into a machine and listening. I wanted something readable on screen: which parameter changed, and from which value to which.
THE DAY
An old sound, ten minutes out
On one date an old sound was asked for shortly before the start. The preset was still in the instrument, but it no longer sounded the way it should, and nobody could say from memory which setting had moved. Comparing it against various backups produced the list of changed parameters, and the original preset went back into the machine before the set, in two minutes.
Those three needs became the three functions everything else was built around.
02 / WHAT IT DOES
The functions, one by one
LIBRARIES
Keep it sorted
Everything imported stays here. Presets, banks, and the projects where you group what belongs together: an artist, a tour, a machine. Favorites for whatever you pull out constantly.
ANALYZE
Read it
Voyager SysEx is bytes. The app turns them into readable parameters: what the filter is set to, where the envelope sits, which destination is wired to the mod wheel. You read a preset without loading it into the instrument.
COMPARE
Spot the change
Two presets or two banks, and a list of what differs with both values side by side. This is the function I use most. It answers “what moved between two backups?” without reloading anything.
MANAGE
Rearrange
Move a preset from one slot to another, swap two slots, rename a preset, prepare a bank before sending it. The original backup is never touched — the work happens on a copy.
UTILITIES
Transfer
Receive a dump from the instrument and save it, or send data back to the machine. One preset, one bank, or the whole thing.
FACTORY
Put it straight
Send back factory banks you supplied yourself, in order, in a single transfer. Handy on a rental machine that comes back in an unknown state.

These screenshots come from a build still in testing. They are not contractual: the interface, the labels and the features can change from one version to the next.
04 / WHAT THIS IS
Built by one person
This is developed by a single person, with the gear that person has to hand. It runs on my Voyager and on the ones I’ve come across as rentals, which doesn’t mean every case is covered — there are bound to be setups I haven’t thought of.
If a dump doesn’t load properly, or the app shows a value that looks wrong to you, write to me. That is exactly what I need to move forward, and it’s how most of the fixes so far have come about. Feature ideas are welcome too, as long as they can serve more than one person. What I don’t do is bespoke development for a single setup.
